For four decades, NVCC has been on a journey, continuously evolving and expanding its level of service to the community through the leadership and creative talents of its faculty, staff and ultimately, its students who graduate and become an integral part of the fabric of the community.

Naugatuck Valley Community College is a public, two-year, associate degree granting, co-educational, non-residential college and is one of 17 institutions comprising Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (ConnSCU). NVCC is governed by the Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education.

We are a mostly open admission institution, offering more than 100 accredited programs leading to associate degrees or professional certification and over 120 continuing education/lifelong learning courses for professional development and workforce training. Courses are offered during days, evenings and weekends and individuals may enroll as full or part-time students. The College offers special programs and services including The Academic Center for Excellence which offers tutoring and academic assistance to all students, cooperative education, career services, English as a second language, veterans affairs, services for minority students, students with physical disabilities, students with learning disabilities, business and industry training seminars and special interest programs.

The campus is equipped with the latest instructional technology, and well-appointed classrooms and laboratories. The Max R. Traurig Library and Learning Resource Center offers specialized services and diverse collection of materials and online resources. The Student Center supports student activities, a game room and full-service cafeteria. The Fine Arts Center includes two theaters, music and dance studios, video studios and rehearsal rooms that are home for many cultural programs enjoyed by the region.
