BioCT welcomes Jodie Gillon as president and CEO

BioCT welcomes Jodie Gillon as its new president and CEO, effective May 8. As previously announced, Dawn Hocevar stepped into retirement after five and a half years in office, effective April 28.

Jodie most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Patient Advocacy at Peptilogics, a Phase I and Machine Learning start up. She previously served as the Chief Patient Officer and Head of Clinical Affairs at Abeona Therapeutics, a cell and gene therapy company. Prior to joining Abeona, Jodie spent more than ten years at Pfizer. Prior to Pfizer, she held senior positions at Achillion Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca, Novartis and Oridion Medical.

Dawn has worked tirelessly to put BioCT in a position of strength advocating for the biopharma and healthcare industry.”

Jodie brings over 25 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and biotech, having started her career in advocacy and government, in the United States and abroad. She possesses an exceptional background with deep proficiency across all therapeutic areas and a passion for Rare Diseases. She holds a Master of Public Health with a dual degree in Health Management and Economics and Epidemiology from Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service. She currently resides in Westport, CT.

I fell in love with New Haven in 2016 while at Achillion Pharmaceuticals, and it is a great privilege to help expand the biotech ecosystem in the state I now proudly call my permanent home,” said Jodie. “I am grateful for all that my predecessor, Dawn Hocevar, has established to date and honored to be part of a small yet spectacular team supported by a tremendous Board of Directors. I look forward to partnering, serving current stakeholders, developing new relationships, and pushing the limits of what we can accomplish together.”
