The Yale Diabetes Research Center announces a Pan-Connecticut Symposium dedicated to “Innovative Approaches to Diabetes Research and Therapies”, co-sponsored by Yale University and the University of Connecticut, in cooperation with The Jackson Laboratory, and in coordination with the JDRF.

Topics to be covered include: immunologic mechanisms and therapies, microbiota-metabolic interactions, beta cell differentiation, cell biology, CNS control of metabolism, and the pathogenesis of diabetes and obesity.

A parallel goal of the symposium is to serve as a precursor to the creation of the “Connecticut Center for Metabolic Disease Research” (CCMDR), a multi-institutional collaborative effort with an emphasis on diabetes (T1D and T2D) research.
