In her role\, she oversees the Office of Diversity & Inclusion\, WorkLife and Childcare Program\, and New Haven Hiring Initiative. Deborah has oversight of the University’s progress in diversity; as well as to ensure and facilitate an integrated vision and shared responsibility for diversity. Under Deborah’s leadership\, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) works collaboratively to accomplish the institution’s diversity equity inclusion and belonging goals. Deborah works with internal university departments and external organizations and agencies and serves as the University’s chief liaison with the University’s eight staff Affinity/Employee Resource Groups; Yale African American Affinity Group (YAAA)\, Yale Latino Networking Group (YLNG)\, Asian Network at Yale (ANY)\, Yale University Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer Affinity Group (LGBTQ)\, Yale University Working Women Network (WWN) Yale Veterans Network (YVN)\, Future Leaders of Yale (FLY) and DiversAbility at Yale (DAY). The diversity progress to date has contributed to strengthening the climate and culture of Yale University and to increasing a sense of belonging. \nElliott Francis\, Director\, Diversity and Inclusion\, BIO \nOver his professional career\, Elliott has consulted with business leaders to develop\, implement\, and execute diversity & inclusion strategies to achieve organizational success. At Booz Allen Hamilton\, an international management consulting firm\, Elliott led the development\, implementation\, and management of an enterprise-wide Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Partnering Program across 40 business units\, which resulted in:\n \n\nExpanding the firm’s reach to highly talented professionals in diverse communities\nProviding access to professional development opportunities for its staff\nIncreasing Booz Allen Hamilton’s diversity & inclusion brand in the federal consulting space\n\nIn recent years\, Elliott’s work has focused on ensuring the linkage between diversity & inclusion initiatives to federal strategic goals and objectives. At the National Science Foundation (NSF)\, he led the agency-wide Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Action Planning and Employee Engagement Initiative mandated by Executive Order 13583. At the Department of Treasury (IRS) Elliott was responsible for integrating agency-wide human capital programs with diversity & inclusion initiatives\, and served as the Acting Director\, Diversity Strategy Division (DSD) as well as the Acting Director\, Measures Analysis Reports Section (MARS) within the Equity Diversity & Inclusion Office. At the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) Elliott conducted enterprise workforce planning within the Human Capital Office and led the Workforce Inclusion Recruitment Engagement & Diversity (WIRED) cross-functional team. \nIn his current role as the Director\, Diversity and Inclusion at BIO\, Elliott provides leadership and drives change through the development and implementation of strategic diversity and inclusion initiatives in the biotechnology and life sciences industry and within BIO. \nModerators: \nJennifer Good\, Trevi Therapeutics\, President & CEO \nJennifer is the co-founder of Trevi Therapeutics and currently serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the board of directors. Previously\, Ms. Good was an executive at Penwest Pharmaceuticals\, where she held various positions including President and Chief Executive Officer\, Chief Operating Officer\, and Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Good currently serves on the board of Rhythm Pharmaceuticals\, Inc.\, a publicly-traded rare disease company\, and previously served on the board of Juniper Pharmaceuticals\, Inc.\, a publicly-traded healthcare company\, from September 2017 until it was acquired in August 2018. Ms. Good also currently serves as a board member of the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA)\, a patient advocacy group advancing treatments for the cure of Friedreich’s Ataxia\, and is as the Treasurer for a non-profit organization\, Newtown Youth and Family Services\, which provides mental health services and programs to support the community. Ms. Good received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from Pacific Lutheran University in 1987 and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the State of Washington\, although her license is currently inactive. \nRachael Alford\, Rallybio\, Head of CMC \nDr. Alford brings more than 15 years of CMC experience to Rallybio. Most recently\, she served as Vice President\, Global Process Development at Alexion Pharmaceuticals\, where she led both biologic and small molecule process development across the lifecycle\, analytical and formulation development\, device development\, tech transfer and clinical tech services. During her tenure at Alexion\, Dr. Alford assumed positions of increasing responsibility in Technical Operations\, developing expertise across the CMC spectrum.
