Leveraging NIA SBIR and STTR Funding to Accelerate Aging-Related Innovations in IDeA States

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Office of Small Business Research (OSBR) is offering you an opportuntity to learn more about NIA’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs and additional resources to commercialize your research. Our staff and partners are eager to share guidance on drafting and submitting a competitive application.

  • Featured Speaker: Michael-David Kerns, M.M., M.S., Ph.D., NIA Office of Small Business Research, NIH, will provide an overview of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, guidance on drafting a competitive application, and additional resources for advancing your research.

Through the SBIR and STTR programs, NIA OSBR provides more than $100 million annually in set-aside, non-dilutive funding and resources to support small businesses looking to commercialize technologies. The small business programs support eligible companies and entrepreneurs creating innovative therapeutics, devices, and diagnostics that address aging, aging-related diseases, and the special needs of older Americans.

We invite entrepreneurial researchers, small businesses, and research organizations to learn how to tap into NIA’s SBIR/STTR programs, which can help accelerate research on innovations in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), AD-related dementias, and other diseases of aging.
