WIB & Unconscious Bias Project: Why & How to Tackle Bias in Yourself

November 3, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join WIB-National and the Unconscious Bias Project (UBP) for this custom presentation perfect for WIB members exploring their role in making change.

Most people don’t want to be racist, sexist, or prejudiced in general. Yet simply living in the world exposes us to negative stereotypes about various groups of people, which can lead anyone to internalize harmful “unconscious bias” and accidentally discriminate against people they consciously respect. If you’re looking to understand your role and place to make change, this is a great place to start.

In this virtual session together, we will review the current landscape of how bias affects our every day and practice personal bias reduction strategies that are easy to use and really work!

Make sure to catch the second event of this two part series, Intervening for Yourself and Others on February 2, 2023 to dig deeper into how to deal with bias when it comes up in interpersonal relationships.
