In the life sciences\, project managers provide structure to complex work by planning timelines\, aligning teams\, communicating clearly\, and adapting as projects evolve. This session will highlight the key hard skills (planning\, scope management\, and stakeholder coordination) and soft skills (influence\, communication\, and collaboration) needed to guide projects from concept to completion. \nLearn how to: \n\nIdentify key project management concepts and terminology relevant to the life sciences.\nUnderstand how scientific\, regulatory\, and business priorities shape project timelines and strategy.\nApply practical tools to improve communication\, decision-making\, and cross-functional collaboration.\nRecognize how project management skills translate across roles—from bench science to operations\, commercialization\, and leadership.\n\nSpeaker Bios \nTanvir Joshi\, Founder of EKAM Biotech \nTanvir Joshi has spent more than 20 years at the intersection of science\, strategy\, and patient impact\, building a career defined by purpose\, precision\, and an unwavering belief that breakthrough therapies only matter when they reach the people who need them. Her journey through the biotech and pharmaceutical landscape has taken her from hospital corridors in the Texas Medical Center to national leadership roles guiding billion-dollar rare disease portfolios\, and ultimately to founding EKAM Biotech\, where she now helps emerging innovators bring transformative science to life. Her career began in the field where she quickly distinguished herself as a trusted partner to clinicians and health systems. At AstraZeneca\, she navigated some of the most complex academic IDNs in the world’s largest medical center\, The Texas Medical Center\, driving adoption of therapies that would go on to become global blockbusters. In 2025\, Tanvir founded EKAM Biotech with a clear mission: to guide biotech founders\, scientists\, and early-stage companies through the complexities of commercialization\, organizational buildout\, and investor readiness. Tanvir is the author of Patients First: Reimagining Biotech and Pharma Through a Human Centered Lens\, a book that challenges traditional commercial models and advocates for a future where patient experience\, dignity\, and access guide every strategic decision. Tanvir holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Houston and has pursued additional training in Servant Leadership\, Business Operations\, and the integration of generative AI into business strategy. \nYadira Hernández Santana\, Sr. Director\, Bulk Value Stream Lead at CSL Behring\, Moderator \nYadira has more than 24 years of experience working at various pharmaceutical companies manufacturing medicines for human and animal health. SUMMARY:Book Launch: A Conversation with Dr. Yin Ho\, Author of Rushing Headlong: Health IT's Legacy and the Road to Responsible AI
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a conversation with Dr. Yin Ho\, MD\, MBA\, the author of Rushing Headlong: Health IT’s Legacy and The Road to Responsible AI\, which traces the journey from early health IT hopes to the rise of generative AI in medicine. \nBlending personal stories with deep industry experience\, she dissects how both public and private leaders have let key opportunities slip away\, leaving behind a healthcare system that is often disjointed and frustrating for patients\, clinicians\, and researchers alike. \nDr. Ho does not pull punches as she guides the reader through the damage done by regulatory capture and how generative AI can help transform mountains of medical data into real progress. \nClear-eyed and unapologetic\, this book exposes how every healthcare stakeholder in the system shares responsibility for our current predicament- and why fixing it demands intention\, collaboration\, and courage from all of us. \nAuthor: \n \n\n\n\n\nYin Ho\, M.D.\, M.B.A. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA serial entrepreneur and visionary executive in the Health IT and clinical research space\, Dr. Ho has been founding\, building\, and leading Health IT companies and initiatives for over 25 years. \nMost recently\, Dr. Ho was the interim CEO at Veradigm (MDRX) where she led the strategic acquisition of a generative AI company\, Science IO. As the first electronic health record firm to have its own proprietary LLM capabilities (in the form of small language models) in-house\, she charted a direction to improve the quality of data collection and data abstraction for both clinical care and research. A longtime strategic thinker\, Dr. Ho also founded and led Context Matters Inc. — the first data analytics software company focused on global health technology assessments and linking health economics to clinical trial outcomes. Today\, Context Matters is part of Clarivate Analytics (CLVT). \nDr. Ho led eHealth at Pfizer (PFE) in the early years of Health IT\, and served as the Chief Product and Strategy Officer for Aetion in the first years of real world evidence. She was also the VP of Product and Corporate Strategy at Medidata\, and part of the executive team who led the company through its IPO. \nOriginally trained as an emergency medicine physician at Yale\, Dr. Ho became excited about the potential of eHealth and changed careers quickly by earning an MBA from Harvard just as eHealth/Health IT was emerging. In fact\, to help push the Health IT ecosystem along\, she co-founded New York City Health Business Leaders (NYCHBL) — now Digital Health New York (DHNY) — to propel NYC into the healthcare innovation juggernaut it is today. \nDr. Ho is currently on the Board of Directors at Segmed (an AI-enabled radiology data aggregator for real world evidence) and serves as an advisor to Lighten AI (a clinical abstraction AI company) and Novellia (an AI-enabled personal health data company). \nDr. Ho earned her B.A. from Brown University\, her M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine\, and her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
