General Information:

Artizan Biosciences is advancing the innovative immunology research of Yale faculty members Richard Flavell and Noah Palm. The company is identifying and characterizing members of the human gut microbiome that predispose people to chronic inflammatory disease and developing novel therapeutics to address unmet medical needs. Our first target is Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s Disease & Ulcerative Colitis).

Research Activities
Artizan’s proprietary technology, IgA-Seq™, developed by Drs. Noah Palm, Marcel de Zoete and Richard Flavell, enables us to identify immunologically interesting bacteria by virtue of the magnitude of their coating with immunoglobulin A. We interrogate strains of interest in vitro and in vivo to evaluate their pathogenicity, which subsequently leads to unique therapeutic opportunities.
