Marilyn is a materials scientist who is passionate about science, people, and the planet. During her doctoral studies, she explored how biological lipoprotein membranes respond to various stressors, discovering that the structure-property relationships of pulmonary membranes are directly linked to the development of pneumonia. At Dow Chemical, she collaborates on fundamental research to design sustainable materials and develop methods to degrade persistent ones. Mentorship has played a pivotal role in her career.
