Speaker Bios:
Jennifer Bailey, Senior Communications Business Partner at CSL, Moderator
Jen serves as the primary communications counselor for the leadership team at CSL Seqirus in Holly Springs, NC. She is responsible for leading the site’s communications efforts with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as growing awareness of the brand in the local market. She has over 15 years of experience developing and executing communications strategies at in-house corporate teams and agencies. Before joining CSL, she served as Vice President of communications and External Affairs at Pyxus International, a global agricultural company headquartered in RTP. She has spent several years working at one of the area’s leading PR agencies, supporting clients ranging from a professional sports team to local universities and elected officials. Jen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Roberta Duncan, MBA, Chief Strategy Officer at Arcturus Therapeutics
Roberta Duncan has been in the biopharma industry for more than 26 years, with experience ranging from start-up and small biotech to pharma and CROs. She is currently the Board Vice-Chair of the Alliance for mRNA Medicines (AMM) and previously held the role of Vice President, leading CSL’s enterprise-wide mRNA Program. Roberta has led complex programs, driving profitable growth, enhancing productivity, accelerating critical growth assets into the pipeline, leading revenue-generating products, and enabling commercial launch and market expansion. Roberta has an extensive and diverse background across multiple therapeutic areas and business functions, inclusive of strategy, business development, business planning and operations, governance, portfolio and program management, program leadership, alliance management, R&D (including clinical development, regulatory, clinical operations, R&D systems, and compliance), and product development. Her experience spans across industry-leading organizations such as CSL, Eli Lilly, Bristol Myers Squibb, Shire Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Takeda), Trevi Therapeutics, Kendle International (acquired by Syneos), and Quintiles (now IQVIA). Roberta earned her BA in biochemistry from New York University and two MBAs in international management and strategy from Krannert School of Management (Purdue University) and TiasNimbas Business School (Tilburg University, The Netherlands).
Conchita Jimenez-Gonzalez, MBA, PhD, Vice President, Head of R&D, EHS, & Sustainability at GSK
Conchita leads the global team that enables R&D to operate safely and sustainably. This includes embedding a safety culture, sustainability principles, and proactive risk management into R&D. Previously, she held Director roles in pharma & consumer supply chains, new product development, engagement, planning, analytics, reporting, operational sustainability, and new product support. She holds a PhD in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University, where she is also an Adjunct Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, an MS in environmental engineering from ITESM, Monterrey, México, and a BS in chemical and industrial engineering at the Chihuahua Institute of Technology, México.
