Welcome Naveos Biopharma ConsultantsI am thrilled Naveos joined the mix. I had the good fortune of working directly with Rich, their CEO, while at Abeona and can therefore be a personal reference for their services.” – Jodie Gillon, BioCT President & CEO

Patients with specialty and rare diseases face enormous challenges managing their illnesses and NAVigating healthcare dynamics. The dawn of each day brings reminders of those challenges, yet also renews hope that better treatments are on the horizon. EOS, the Greek God of the Dawn that brought forth the hope of a new day, is an inspiring metaphor for the hopes of patients and the noble role that biopharma companies can play in supporting these patients.

Naveos Biopharma focuses on the intersection of navigation and hope. They seek to leverage their industry expertise and partner with biopharma companies to plot a successful route through the myriad of challenging investment and development decisions needed to bring new treatments to market, all while keeping the hopes and needs of patients as a guiding light in our efforts.

BioCT’s Legislative Breakfast RecapMore than 250 life sciences leaders and legislators turned out Monday morning for a Legislative Breakfast. The event was timed intentionally before the short legislative session beginning February 7th. BioCT is currently updating its legislative agenda through their Government Affairs subcommittee, based on feedback from this critical event.

Key takeaways:

  • Economic incentives drive growth. The key ingredients for success are robust investment infrastructure, vibrant academic community, and stimulating policies.
  • MassBio and NewYorkBIO highlighted what had the greatest ROI in their states. Investments such as the R&D tax credit and clusters pay off years down the line, but they are already seeing immense benefits.
  • There are huge advantages in hubs and urban environments centered around top academic institutions for talent, and a need to build transportation around them.
  • De-risked lab space is essential.
  • There are immense benefits from, and a need to expand and sustain, existing education programs and scholarships.
  • There is a need for long-term growth strategies, including robust training and stronger ties with academia.
  • We need to support diversity and career pathways so that every community in CT is ready for, and aware of, opportunities in life sciences.
  • We have all the raw ingredients, but must “think big” for long term success.
  • We need a “one stop shop” for information.
