newhavenbiz recognizes 2020 ‘Power 50’

The magazine newhavenbiz recently recognized The Power 50 Class of 2020.

I am so proud to be part of the evolution of the bio industry in Connecticut. Congratulations to John Houston, Per Hellsund, Vlad Coric and all 50 people for being recognized for their contributions to the economic development of New Haven.

Thank you to the BioCT team — Kelley Gipson and Kim Kelly — for their passion and dedication to making a difference. Thank you for your professionalism and all your hard work. You are the backbone of BioCT! I also thank the BioCT board of directors for their continued support and everyone who has embraced my passion and resolve to help grow the bio ecosystem in Connecticut.

With the continued success of Yale’s OCR commercialization program, New Haven is the epicenter as a micro-cluster destination for start-ups and growing companies. This is great news for the entire state’s economy.  Thank you to UConn and Jackson Laboratories for all the tremendous work that you are doing in the state. And thank you to Connecticut Innovations, the Connecticut Legislative members and the Administration who are committed to supporting this industry.

Connecticut is becoming a destination for many companies who need talent, funding, infrastructure, and a collaborative atmosphere … as well as affordable talent, space, and a great place to live! Connecticut’s advantage is our small footprint — we all work together and celebrate each other’s success.
