Virtual Career Panel on Social & Behavioral Careers – Hosted by YWIB CT

Young Women In Bio (YWIB)-Connecticut is partnering with Junior Achievement of Southwest New England to present a virtual career panel discussion focusing on mental health therapy and nutritionists. Please join us to learn more about these careers as well as answers to field-focused questions young students might have about them!

Panelists

Maria DiFonte, PhD, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Bohan & Bradstreet

A graduate of Brown University with a BA in psychology, Maya Bradstreet received her nutrition training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City. Affiliated with Columbia University, IIN educates its students in a myriad of dietary theories: from Macrobiotics & Ayurvedic Principles to today’s trends. With a passion to learn more about behavior change and Public Health, she went on to get her master’s degree in health promotion from Indiana University, where she researched community-supported agriculture, farm-to-school programs, and other sustainable food systems. She’s since led cooking classes, done TV cooking demos, and worked with clients on a corporate and individual basis… she’s hoping one day to have her own brick-and-mortar clean cafe on the shoreline.

Hannah Levy, PhD, Staff Psychologist, Hartford HealthCare

Dr. Levy received her PhD in clinical psychology from Concordia University in 2016. She completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center/VA Medical Center Consortium. Dr. Levy completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Institute of Living in 2018 and then remained on staff as a licensed psychologist. Dr. Levy’s research aims to understand the biological, behavioral, and cognitive mechanisms of anxiety-related disorders, with the goal of using these mechanisms to develop new and improved treatments. In her clinical practice, Dr. Levy specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and hoarding disorder.

Kimberly Sain, PhD, Psychologist & Education Coordinator, Hartford HealthCare

Dr. Kimberly Sain earned her PhD in clinical psychology at Southern Illinois University in 2018. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital. Next, she finished a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Anxiety Disorders Center in 2019 and remained on staff as a licensed psychologist. In her role at the Anxiety Disorders Center, she provides cognitive-behavioral therapy for fear-based disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. She also works as the Coordinator of Training and Education for the clinic and organizes the training of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Lastly, Dr. Sain is an assistant professor at Southern Illinois University and teaches a cognitive-behavioral therapy course to clinical psychology graduate students.
