CoRISMA announces funding for heart device

Yale spinout CoRISMA MCS Systems has announced the closing of a Series A funding round.

The company’s lead product is an implanted transcatheter that features wirelessly powered mechanical circulation support. Yale cardiac surgeon Dr. Pramod Bonde invented the device at his artificial heart lab at Yale University.

CEO and co-founder Mike Theran said CoRISMA plans to “dramatically accelerate our development and commercialization efforts.”
