BioCT is dedicating this year’s event to a celebration of Jon Soderstrom’s contributions to the growth of Connecticut’s bioscience industry. Jon is retiring from Yale at the end of this year.

Jon has led Yale’s Office of Cooperative Research since 1996, boosting Yale’s profile as a leader in global research by helping faculty launch successful ventures based on their academic work. Under his stewardship, more than 75 Yale spinouts have been launched in and around New Haven, attracting $2B+ in venture capital and another $7B in public equity financing.

In Jon’s honor, we will be announcing the creation of The Soderstrom Scholars Fund, which will support underprivileged students in Connecticut who are interested in STEM.
