NIA SBIR/STTR Virtual Workshop: Understanding the NIH Peer-Review Process

November 10, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

What happens after submitting your application for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding? It goes through NIH’s peer-review process, a thorough, time-tested system that identifies the most promising biomedical research ideas.

Join the National Institute on Aging (NIA) Office of Small Business Research, NIH Small Business Education and Entrepreneurial Development, the Center for Scientific Review, the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, and the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences for an NIA SBIR/STTR Virtual Workshop on Understanding the NIH Peer-Review Process.

In this workshop, you’ll learn what reviewers look for in SBIR/STTR applications, the role of different reviewers, how to interpret your summary statement, and what to do if you have questions. Panelists will perform a mock review to give you an inside look at how peer researchers review NIH grant applications for scientific and technical merit. This virtual workshop is part of a series of online tutorials that assist entrepreneurial researchers, small businesses, and research organizations with their small business funding applications.
