StoryTime Workshop – How to Explain Your Role at Your Company and Why It Matters – Hosted by WIB

May 1 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to craft a brief story using applicable word choices and techniques. You will also have time in small groups to share your own stories and practice what you have learned. StoryTime recognizes the complexity of working in the life science field. Highly educated scientific specialists may face challenges communicating with people outside their work community. StoryTime helps workshop participants better understand the perspectives of non-scientists and offers exercises for how to establish a dialogue with them. Meeting new people presents opportunities to talk about yourself while helping to articulate scientific achievements that you are a part of. Through personal anecdotes, inspiration, and your life experiences – told in simple, relatable language you can connect with others no matter who they are.
