To kick-off what we hope will be a new Yale Startups in Formation series designed to examine the complex landscape of underrepresented communities’ health and healthcare, please join a stellar group of panelists who are prepared to lay the foundation. This inaugural session will explore the landscape of entrepreneurship and innovation in the area broadly described as “The Health of Women.” Our panelists will discuss the scientific, social, and behavioral influences that may contribute to the limited advances in this “niche market” (which encompasses 50% of all patients!). From the perspectives of academia, the venture community, and startups, we will discuss how advances in technology, data handling, policy and research processes are currently being utilized to leverage untapped opportunities. We hope the audience will be challenged to rethink the countless possibilities this ‘exploding niche market’ has to offer.
