Hyperfine’s MRI tested at Yale New Haven Hospital

A study of 50 critically ill patients at Yale New Haven Hospital found a Guilford company’s portable MRI could successfully detect brain abnormalities at their bedside in the intensive care unit.

They were scanned using the new Swoop MRI system developed by Guilford bioscience entrepreneur Jonathan Rothberg’s Hyperfine Research. Slightly bigger than a compact refrigerator, the machine plugs into a standard AC wall outlet and is operated through an iPad.
