Medical manufacturer Medtronic plans to increase its production of ventilators in response to the demands of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus currently spreading around the globe.
Medtronic currently manufactures ventilators in Galway, Ireland. Over 250 employees there are currently dedicated to producing the devices. The company said it hopes to double that number by transferring employees from other facilities. The company also plans to add shifts to its factory so it can be brought to operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. more
