General Information:

CESI (Center for Education, Simulation, and Innovation) is a 53,000 sq. ft., world-class, comprehensive medical simulation center on the campus of Hartford Hospital that provides experiential education and training services to healthcare providers throughout the continuum of care. CESI provides Hartford Hospital and Hartford Healthcare with a comprehensive array of programs to enhance provider performance, support safety and quality initiatives to optimize patient care, and mitigate risk for all stakeholders. CESI also provides its services and facilities to 3rd party healthcare providers, first responders, military branches, and medical associations.

CESI provides R&D support services, human factor environments, and education and training programs to the healthcare industry. CESI provides these industry services to global, regional, and startup companies. Over the past five years, CESI has worked with over 40 industry clients; many on a repeat basis.

Research Activities:

CESI is comprised of four business units, each of which emphasizes experiential and simulation-based learning pedagogy. These business units include 1) cognitive simulation and skills development; 2) cadaveric and tissue-based preclinical wetlab; 3) Emergency Medical Services, and 4) Mobile Unit.

CESI works with each client to understand the core learning objectives and priorities for each program and then creates and implements a bespoke program to teach and reinforce the learning objectives.
