New Haven Promise builds a college-going, career and civic-launch culture throughout the city of New Haven in which students in the public schools aspire to attend and graduate from college; provides financial incentives and support for those students; and facilitate the return of graduates to live, work and serve in the greater New Haven community.
In our work, New Haven Promise partners with K-12 youth and families; New Haven traditional public and public charter schools; 19 CT-based public and private higher education institutions; and over 60 businesses, nonprofits and community-based organizations. Currently, our Promise community is made up of over 1,600 college students and graduates (90% of whom are people of color, 70% first generation to college, and 71% from low-income households).
