Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA), founded in 1993, is an independent and nonprofit organization with over 4,000 members. Its headquarters are based in New Jersey. SAPA-Connecticut Chapter (SAPA-CT) was founded in February 2014 and has more than 120 members from local pharmaceutical companies and research institutes. The mission of SAPA-CT is to promote the advancement of pharmaceutical science and biotechnology; to contribute to public health education; to facilitate scientific exchange and business cooperation between the US and China; and to foster members’ career development.

SAPA-CT successfully hosted its 1st annual meeting at Yale University in February 2014, titled “Bridging the USA and China in Current Pharmaceutical World-Strategy, Innovation and Implementation,” that included a scientific symposium and a career development workshop.

SAPA-CT is proud to host a series of scientific workshops focusing on all aspects of drug discovery and development including target identification, lead optimization, pharmacology, toxicology, CMC (chemistry, manufacturing, and controls), pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, translational medicine, biomarkers, clinical studies, regulatory, marketing, etc., with a broad scope from overviews to case studies. The workshop series will be officially starting at Yale University on May 17, 2014 and will be hosted periodically afterwards. Stay tuned for new workshops.

In addition, with a broad network and strong connections with Chinese pharmaceutical and biotech companies, SAPA-CT is serving as a bridge connecting pharmaceutical science and business between the US and China.
