This week my focus is on policy and our Connecticut Rare Disease Forum on March 7th. Our policy focus is in full gear – coming off our Legislative Breakfast two weeks ago our Government Affairs Committee has updated our 2024 Legislative Agenda and armed every legislator in the state before session started yesterday (https://www.cga.ct.gov/). Also, today the CEOs of BMS, J&J and Merck are testifying before the Senate HELP committee. We have been working behind the scenes with CT legislators to support these testimonies which will potentially have a huge impact on our entire industry. You can watch the testimonies live here: https://www.help.senate.gov/hearingsWe have companies flying in to take part of the Connecticut Rare Disease Forum. We couldn’t be more excited about the panels convened, the networking opportunities, and highlighting The Jackson Laboratory and Farmington. I am immensely grateful to our sponsors to date, more to be announced soon. Alexion, the most sizeable rare disease company in the state, joined as our premiere sponsor and I am thrilled we have entities such as Trevi Therapeutics, The Tomasso Group, Wiggin and Dana, Elite Limousine, and Biolabs, doing all they can to demonstrate their commitment to rare diseases and Farmington. Every sponsorship counts tremendously, enabling both progress in key areas such as rare diseases and outreach to key stakeholders such as advocates & patients.
