Top of mind this week are academia and policy. I kicked off the week at Sacred Heart University (pictures below). I had always known the campus as I used to walk around the hockey rink in the winter. What was novel to me was their incredible programming and facilities through the Masters level in AI. However, it got my wheels turning – what if we had enough Ph.D spots to keep these highly educated trained students in CT? Additionally, this morning I get to open a program at Southern Connecticut State University for girls in STEM, hosted by Young Women in Bio-Conecticut. Anyone who has heard me present knows my priorities are the 3 P’s: Policy, People & Promotion. We are in the midst of shaping our 2024 legislative agenda and our first program will be Dec 5th on price controls. You can register hereNext is our Legislative Breakfast on January 22nd at Alexion. I would like to thank Yale, BI, Pfizer, and Arvinas for their sponsorship to enable this program. Please reach out at jgillon@bioct.org to learn more.
