Welcome GSK

GSK is a global biopharma company with a purpose to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together. They prioritize innovation in vaccines and specialty medicines to prevent and treat disease.

We would like to welcome GSK to BioCT’s Government Affairs Committee.  With Policy being one of our main priorities, we are continuing to expand Government Affairs Committee and prepare for a statewide policy meeting on January 22, 2024.  GSK has a HIV Discovery Center of Excellence in Branford, Connecticut, and sees the importance of playing an active role in the state and to help shape policies. Learn more

This has been a week of policy. On Sunday, I attended my first CT fundraiser organized by the Power of Women PAC at Sam Nestors lovely home in Weston in support of Lt. Governor Bysiewcz. Monday, I was immensely grateful countless organizations and policy makers convened quickly to host an event at Temple Israel in Westport wherein >1,000 participants joined in person from all faiths and backgrounds. Governor Lamont and Senator Blumenthal spoke of the need not only to stand with Israel but also to protect CT residents.

Tuesday morning was BioCT’s first CFO Roundtable; with a lively discussion on cash conservation in biotech. It was a wonderful chance for me to hear directly from individuals working on this area before our fiscal-focused Legislative Breakfast this coming January.

The entire world changed on Saturday, and while we must remain focused on life sciences in CT, we also need to rally across this great State and support one another as a family we have become by all residing here.
