Greg Sotzing, a chemist and professor at UConn, is manipulating the compounds found in cannabis into unexpected forms. For example, Sotzing has turned CBD, found in hemp, into a polymer he says could replace plastic products.
Sotzing and his co-authors recently published a study showing that they could, using existing processes, turn the CBD into a sustainable, moldable plastic.
