New Express Trains on the New Haven Line and Increased Services on the Waterbury Branch Line

Governor Ned Lamont announced Monday that six weekday new express trains between New Haven and Grand Central Terminal had begun service. With operation in as little as 1 hour 39 minutes, these trains provide the fastest service between the two cities in decade.

Governor Lamont announced a nearly 50% increase in service for the Waterbury Branch Line, including infrastructure and safety improvements.

Superbugs surged in 2020 as pandemic weakened defenses

“The COVID-19 pandemic pushed back years of progress made combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the United States,” leading to a surge in superbug infections, says a report released yesterday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

We need improvements in AMR prevention and data —including from wastewater—judicious use of antibiotics, and development of new drugs, CDC says.
