Michael Kasdan, Partner at Wiggin and Dana, recently published an article The Patent vs Trade Secret Decision and Basics of Setting Up a Trade Secret Program.

The regimes of patent protection and trade secret protection, in many ways, rest on opposite foundational philosophies – whether to opt to disclose your invention and seek patent protection or keep things under wraps and opt for trade secret protection is an important early decision.

Here is some practical information from their Trade Secret Group comparing the two regimes and addressing what organizations should keep in mind when putting together a Trade Secret Program.

Now in its 15th year, the Marcum Tech Top 40 is the premier awards program recognizing Connecticut’s fastest growing technology companies. The awards recognize technology leaders in six industry sectors that reflect the state’s technology landscape:

Tech Top 40 companies are both privately and publicly held, must have $3 million in annual revenue, and demonstrate a record of revenue growth in the past four years. Companies can also apply for the Accelerator award designed for companies that successfully scaled to $3 million in revenue in fewer than three years.

This year’s awards selection will include a virtual event and awards ceremony on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

Biotech Skills Training Survey
The University of New Haven is looking to design a training program for reskilling or upskilling individuals seeking to enter the growing biotechnology industry in Connecticut. Please fill out this survey so they can identify the most desirable skills for this program.
