Yale startup gets $25M re anti-cancer ‘killer cells’

A Yale University spin-off announced $25 million in new funding Wednesday, with plans to design proteins that would defeat “decoy” cells in the body that act to feint the body’s natural defenses against cancer.

Simcha Therapeutics in New Haven is developing potential therapies based on experiments from the Yale lab of Aaron Ring, an assistant professor of immunobiology. Simcha is aiming to enter clinical trials in early 2021.
